100g CASTER SUGAR Mix the sugar, wine and water in a pan, place on the heat and stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture comes to the boil. Lower the heat and simmer gently for 5 minutes. Then remove from the heat, and leave to cool. Prepare the fruit, wash and dry the grapes. Pour the syrup into a serving bowl and add the fruit. Arrange so the colours are evenly distributed. Any fruit can be added to the mixture depending on the time of year and availability. Serve with fresh whipped cream or ice cream
